Dennis Keith Chasteen

Dennis Keith Chasteen, age 77, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on June 7, 2026, at UKMC in Lexington. He was born on January 19, 1949, in
Connersville, Indiana, and lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and devotion to the people and animals he loved.
Dennis was a proud Vietnam veteran of the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he was wounded three times and awarded the Purple
Heart each time. He carried the lasting effects of his military service with strength and dignity, and he was honored with a 100% service-connected
disability. His service to his country was an important part of his life, and those who knew him respected the courage and sacrifice he demonstrated.
He was a kind and giving man who never wanted anyone to leave empty handed. Dennis was known for always offering something to visitors before
they left, and he often told Donna, “Donna, go get them a pop.” That simple gesture reflected the way he lived his life, with warmth, generosity, and a
genuine desire to make others feel welcome. He had a big heart and found joy in sharing what he had with others, no matter how small the kindness
might seem.
Dennis and his wife, Donna Seals Chasteen, shared 33 loving years together. Their home was filled over the years with many cats and dogs that they
loved dearly. Their two cats, Socks and Tigger, remain behind and will miss him deeply. The companionship of their pets brought them comfort and
happiness, and Dennis cared for them with the same tenderness he showed to his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Seals Chasteen; one daughter, Lisa Hernandez; two grandchildren, Tiffany Hernandez and Cody Hernandez;
and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne Chasteen; two sisters, Carol Bishop and Marie Kirley; and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Nelson and Roberta Sandlin Chasteen.
He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services with military honors will be on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 1 pm at Madison County
