(WKYT) – Laurel County authorities say three people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide following a police pursuit late Saturday.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation indicates that 21-year-old James Priddy shot and killed 18-year-old Jadeance Hall and 19-year-old Lila Asher, and then killed himself.
Sheriff John Root said Barbourville police were chasing a red Chevrolet Cobalt tied to a possible domestic violence complaint out of Knox County.
The chase went into Laurel County and ended on Kentucky 312 in southern Laurel County when the fleeing car hit another vehicle and stopped.
Police attempted to stop the car, but Laurel County Deputy Gilbert Acciardo said the vehicle was driving an upward of 100 miles per hour.
Hall, Asher and Priddy were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.
“The investigation is not over,” Acciardo said. “Our hearts definitely go out to the grieving families tonight. We can’t imagine the tremendous loss that they’ve had.”
An online fundraiser is raising money for Asher and Hale’s families.
