(WKYT) – The race for Magoffin County judge-executive will take another turn tomorrow.
There will be a recanvass between Republican candidates Charles “Doc” Hardin and Tommy Howard on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the fiscal courtroom at the Magoffin County Courthouse in Salyersville.
Hardin defeated Howard by 13 votes, 746 to 733, in last Tuesday’s primary.
The winner will face off against former Judge-Executive Matt Wireman, a Democrat, who retired last year to avoid having his pension voided.
Current Judge-Executive Don McFarland was appointed by Gov. Andy Beshear to serve the rest of Wireman’s term and is not seeking election to a term of his own.
