(WKYT) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the latest scam making its rounds across the community.
In social media statement released Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said it had received reports of persons being contact by phone, mail or text message regarding unpaid road tolls from locations across the United States.
In most instances the people contacted have not even driven on those roads.
“Do not give out personal data or financial information. Do not send money,” the sheriff’s office warned.
The investigation into the scam is ongoing.
