Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron and his staff again would like to acknowledge Deputy Jerry Meadows for his outstanding job performance.
On December 22, 2025, while on a regular patrol in the southwestern section of Wayne County, Deputy Meadows observed flames coming from inside an elderly lady’s residence. Without hesitation, Deputy Meadows made an entrance into the residence, finding the lady confused, and then removed her to safety. After doing so, Deputy Meadows then retrieved a fire extinguisher from his patrol vehicle and extinguished the fire before it spread any further.
On February 12, 2026, during the Wayne County Fiscal Court Regular Monthly Meeting, Deputy Meadows was recognized for his actions by being presented the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Life Saving Award that was presented to him by Sheriff Catron.
