Kentuckians are encouraged to join the lifesaving team at Kentucky Blood Center this winter and become blood donors at the upcoming blood drive in your community.
The ultimate prize awaits those who join KBC’s team of donors: assurance that local lives will be impacted from their donation. All donations with KBC stay local to support patients at more than 70 hospitals in Kentucky.
All good teams need a uniform, so in addition to the honor of helping a neighbor in need, those who give blood at this drive will receive a “Team Donor” long-sleeve shirt (while supplies last) – a nod to the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Although winter conditions are a must for the Olympics, it’s an obstacle for the lifesaving team at KBC. Winter weather can lead to drive cancellations and low donor turnout. Intentional, proactive donation from donors at community drives like this one ensures a healthy blood supply for local patients even when inclement weather strikes.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
