According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County man has been arrested after being found hiding inside a residence.
On October 2, 2025, at approximately 6 pm, Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputies responded to a residence located on Green Road after receiving a complaint of a male inside the residence that did not have permission to be. Upon the Deputies arrival they learned from the homeowner that the male was inside the house. It was known by the Deputies that the male had been previously arrested back on August 28, 2025, for trespassing at the same location. Deputies then entered the residence and found the male hiding in the attic area.
Deputy Jerry Coffey charged and arrested Michael Perdue of Monticello, KY. for burglary-2nd degree. Deputy Casey Land also arrested Perdue on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition-all others ($500.00 but less than $1,000.00).
Perdue was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
