According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a male and a female have been charged and arrested on multiple charges related to a burglary of a residence.
On September 30, 2025, at approximately 10:07 am Wayne County Sheriff Office Deputy James Barnett received a complaint of residential burglary at 1958 Buck Run Ridge Road which is located in an very rural section of Wayne County. Upon Deputy Barnetts arrival he learned that two victims were new to Wayne County and had left their residence on September 22, 2025, and stayed in a local motel for a few nights. During their absence from the residence they asked a female which they knew to assist them in retrieving some of their personal items from their residence. The female borrowed a van type vehicle in order to assisted them in the retrieving their items and after doing so she returned the victims with their items to the local motel. When the victims returned to their residence on September 30, 2025, they found several items missing from their residence. The victims stated to Deputy Barnett they believed the female may have been involved in the burglary and as to why they felt that way. Deputy Barnett then made contact with the vans owner which is not involved in the burglary. A search of the van Deputy Barnett located pieces of an item taken from the residence which was identified by the victims. The continued investigation led Deputy Barnett to a male suspect known to have been using the van during this time line as the female. When making contact with the male at his residence located on South Second Street in the city limits of Monticello, the male suspect gave permission for a search of his residence. The search resulted in several items that were taken from the residence were found including tools believed to have been used during the burglary to gain entrance to the residence. The stolen items were retrieved and returned to the victims.
Deputy Barnett charged and arrested Randy Stringer and Melissa Schade both of Monticello, KY. Stringer was charged for burglary-2nd degree, possession of burglary tools, theft by unlawful taking or disposition-all others (more $1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00), theft of mail matter and criminal mischief-1st degree. Schade was charged with burglary-2nd degree (facilitation), theft by unlawful taking or disposition-all others (more than $1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00)-(facilitation), possession of mail matter (facilitation) and criminal mischief-1st degree (facilitation).
Stringer was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Schade was taken to the Wayne County Hospital Emergency Room and after being medically cleared was then lodged in the Detention Center.
Deputy Barnett was assisted during his investigation by Deputy Valis Smedley and Monticello City Police Office Josh Asberry.

Calvin Godsey of Monticello, KY. on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charges of receiving stolen property (under $10,000.00), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), assault-3rd degree (on Police Officer), 3 counts of wanton endangerment-1st degree (on Police Officer), operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, 2 counts of criminal mischief-1st degree and fleeing or evading police-1st degree (motor vehicle).
David S. Dobbs of Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for strangulation-1st degree (domestic violence), unlawful imprisonment-1st degree and assault-4th degree (dating violence).
Thomas McWhorter Monticello, KY. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for criminal mischief-2nd degree.
Dobbs and McWhorter were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Godsey remained lodged there.
