66-year-old Willard Upchurch is expected back in court today in Wayne County for a pre-trial hearing. He was indicted by a Wayne County Grand Jury on one count of murder in October of last year in connection with the shooting of Sam White in September. It’s possible a trial date could be determined as Upchurch has remained lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center since the incident occurred under a one-million-dollar cash only bond.
