Phillip Kinnett has been selected as the Grand Marshal for today’s Monticello-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.
A 1960 graduate of Monticello School, Phillip has been a pillar of the community for decades. As the owner and operator of Kinnett Construction for over 50 years, he built more than 350 homes and commercial buildings across Wayne and Clinton counties. In addition to his work with Kinnett Construction, he has owned and co-owned multiple local businesses, including Home Builders Supply, a car wash, and Kinnett Apartments, which he continues to run after 50 years.
Phillip’s contributions go beyond business. He has generously volunteered his time to various churches and organizations, including Mountain View Baptist Camp, where he led building projects and worked as a lead carpenter. Though retired, Phillip still enjoys working in his shop on smaller-scale projects.
Above all, Phillip is most proud of his family, including his grandkids and great-grandkids, and his greatest accomplishment has been giving his life to Jesus Christ.
