An investigation and search are underway after a person drowned at Lake Cumberland on Sunday, according to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
They say the drowning happened near Garland Bend.
According to the Coroner’s Office, the body of the drowning victim is still submerged underwater, and a search is ongoing.
Multiple rescue crews searched Sunday afternoon and evening, with efforts resuming at 9am this morning.
The Corps of Engineers says that effective immediately there will be a temporary idle speed zone on the South Fork of the Cumberland River until further notice.
The idle speed zone will extend downstream from The Villas dock to Woodson Bend dock.
