Wayne County Man Arrested on Drug & Other Charges

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron his office has arrested a Wayne County man on theft and drug trafficking charges.

On September 17, 2019 Deputy Joe Horne while conducting an investigation into several thefts in Wayne County and following up on tips of the thefts went to a residence in the Spann Hill area. Upon arrival Deputy Horne and Deputies Cody Neal, Jacob Vanover and Sharkley Stonewall observed several reported stolen items. A continued search of the property, the residence and a vehicle resulted in numerous stolen items, a handgun, marijuana, narcotic pills and 38 grams of methamphetamine being confiscated.

Deputy Horne arrested and charged Chandler Burnette of Monticello, Ky. for theft by unlawful taking or disposition, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree – methamphetamine (greater than 2 grams). Deputy Horne is continuing his investigation with more arrest and charges expected in the future. Burnette was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
