According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County man has been charged and arrested on drug trafficking and related charges.
Deputies Jerry Coffey, Brent Rose and Derek Dennis with the Sheriff’s Office were following up on a drug trafficking tip that led them to a residence on North Second Street in Monticello. Upon arrival the Deputies located Miles Sutton of Monticello, Ky. leaving the residence on North Second Street where he was known to be staying. Sutton was also known to have an outstanding Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest. While making the arrest on the warrant Sutton was found to have narcotics and drug paraphernalia on his person. Deputies then gained permission to search the residence from the homeowner. During the search Deputes located approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine and other drug trafficking related items in a back bedroom that Sutton was using according to the information their investigation obtained.
Deputy Derek Dennis charged and arrested Sutton for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance-2nd degree (drug unspecified) and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Sutton’s arrest on the Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest was for Defendant needs to make a new Bond, Sureties were allowed to go off Bond on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for Contempt of Court.
This arrest is the second time Sutton has been charged by the Sheriff’s Office for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) since November 2019. Also, during the same time period Sutton was charged by the Sheriff’s Office on two other occasions in January 2020 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) along with other drug related charges as well.
The investigation is continuing by the Sheriff’s Office with additional arrest pending.
Sutton was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
