Juvenile Arrested on Felony Charges

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a 15-year-old male juvenile has been charged and arrested on several felony charges.

On June 28, 2020 Deputies James Barnett and Jacob Vanover responded to juvenile out of control at a residence on Kentucky Highway 3285.

Upon the Deputies arrival at the residence witnesses stated that the juvenile had strangulated his mother and struck her with a baseball bat. The juvenile had also struck another person present with the baseball bat and had also thrown other items at them. The juvenile then retrieved a kitchen knife from the residence and started making threats with it. The Deputies took the juvenile into custody while he continued to make verbal threats.

Deputy Barnett charged and arrested the juvenile for assault-2nd degree (domestic violence), assault-2nd degree, strangulation-1st degree, wanton endangerment-1st degree, terroristic threatening-3rd degree and for menacing. The juvenile was lodged in the Adair County Youth Development Center.
