Fiscal Court Holds Special Session

Wayne County Fiscal Court met in special session this morning
(Friday) and approved a resolution declaring Wayne County a second amendment sanctuary. County Judge-Executive Mike Anderson read the resolution, which basically expresses the court’s commitment to the rights of all citizens of Wayne County to keep and bear arms.
The resolution states the county’s opposition to any law that would unconstitutionally restrict the rights of the citizens of Wayne County to keep and bear arms. Anderson noted that this resolution has been adopted by eight counties in Kentucky so far and Frankfort officials are expecting that number to grow.
Also during the meeting the court agreed to convert the easement for Carter Dock to a parks and recreation lease. Anderson noted that this is at no cost to the county, but that all easements from the Corps will eventually be converted to leases.
The court met in executive session to discuss personnel. No action was taken.
