A case alleging excessive force by Pulaski County Jail employees has been dismissed in Federal Court.
The suit was filed by Jason Edward Sears naming multiple parties, and alleged he was falsely imprisoned, assaulted, subjected to excessive force and violations of his civil rights. The suit also alleges he received injuries at the hands of jailers, jail supervisors and nursing staff.
The presiding Judge dismissed the suit stating that there was no evidence to support the inmate’s claims. The ruling also took note that there was video of the incidents that show Sears was being uncooperative and was actively resisting the commands of officers, and the techniques used by jail staff were within the bounds of their training, or “objectively reasonable.”
