Contracted Worker at Detention Centers Tests Positive, Testing Event Planned for Today

A case of Covid-19 has been confirmed in a worker at the Wayne County Detention Center.

The report yesterday from Wayne County Jailer Ronnie Ellis revealed the worker was a sub-contractor who had been employed at the detention center. At the present time there are around 140 inmates housed in the facility and a mass testing event is scheduled for today; any employee and inmate that would like to be tested, can be.

A Total of around 112 got tested today.

The department of corrections and other local officials were notified promptly once the sub-contractor confirmed the positive test result, that individual is in self isolation.
