For those customers on City Water who think your water has developed an unpleasant taste or order, you’re not alone.
Z93 News spoke with Officials with the Monticello Utility Commission who tells us there have been numerous reports from customers over the past couple of weeks. Customers can rest assured their water is safe to drink as daily tests continue to maintain safe levels. The utility feels that the odor and taste is due to the inability to flush the lines this past April as they normally do each year. The Covid-19 restrictions that were in place diminished their ability to do the flushing and by the time those restrictions were lifted water usage had increased to the point that flushing could not take place.
The Utility Commission is hoping things will clear up on it’s own and regret any inconvenience this may cause customers.
