Battle of Mill Springs to be Remembered Saturday

a Remembrance Ceremony for the 158th Anniversary of the Battle of Mill Springs is scheduled for this Saturday.
The battle took place on January 19, 1862, in Pulaski and Wayne counties. There were 160 casualties with over 600 wounded, it was the first decisive victory in the western theater for the Union army.
The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at Zollicoffer Park.
Following that a chili supper will be held at the Visitor Center and Museum. It’s the last time the museum will be open this season before normal operating hours resume in March.
All scheduled events for Saturday are free to the public.
