Arrest Made in Copper Theft

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron his office has made an arrest in the copper theft from the Wayne County Technology Center. After requesting the public for assistance on social media and local media outlets in identifying a vehicle used in the theft from the Center or any suspects, the Sheriff’s Office starting received calls. One call led the investigating Deputies to Iron Man Recycling where several rolls of the stolen copper was recovered. Iron Man Recycling was able to provide the Deputies with the suspects name and address that sold the copper to them. Deputies then conduct an interview with the suspect at his residence which also led to the recovery of 12 additional rolls of the copper. Deputy Jerry Meadows arrested and charged William Paige of Monticello, Ky. with burglary-3rd degree and theft by unlawful taking or disposition ($500.00 or more but less than $10,000.00). Paige was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Deputy Meadows is continuing his investigation with additional arrests expected. Deputy Meadows was assisted by Deputy Cody Neal with his investigation.
