Monticello Mayor Tracie Sexton issued a statement Friday, regarding the passing of former Mayor Kenneth Catron.
In honor of Kenneth Catron’s service to the City of Monticello, Monticello Mayor Tracie Sexton is asking all city and county entities to fly their flags at half-staff, from the time of this press release until sundown on the day he is laid to rest.
“City officials and employees are saddened to learn of the passing of former Monticello Mayor Kenneth Catron. Mr. Catron served the City of Monticello for a total of twenty-seven years, having served six years on the Monticello City Council and twenty-one years as the Mayor of Monticello. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Mr. Catron. In recognition of his service I am asking all city and county entities to lower their flags to half-staff from now until sundown on the day he is laid to rest” stated Mayor Tracie Sexton.
