Lake Level Much Lower than Usual

The level of Lake Cumberland continues to creep lower and is well below the winter pool.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports the level is at 690.02FT which is 32.98FT below the seasonal pool level.  Officials point out the main culprit is the dry conditions, noting that all lake counties are listed in the severe drought category by the US drought index.

You are asked to keep in mind while boating that additional navigational hazards will be present throughout the lake.
Some boat ramps will not be usable at this elevation.
