Monticello Fire Department responded to the Freedom area of Wayne County to assist with a landing zone for Wayne County EMS and Air Methods KY 3 Somerset as they treated a patient with gunshot wound injuries. Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was on scene as well performing duties related to the incident.

Monticello Fire Department responded to the area of Buck Run Ridge Road for an out of control fire in the wooded area beside a home place. Fire personnel contained the fire to a small area. Kentucky Division of Forestry was requested due to the terrain and heavy growth and responded to the fire with personnel and equipment.
