Maintenance Worker for Parks and Recreation
Characteristics of Title: Under immediate supervision, performs construction and maintenance duties with the Parks and Recreation Department; performs related work as required.
Examples of Duties: Repair and maintain park structures; not limited to buildings, but will include a restroom, shelter house, tennis court, basketball court, fields, and play equipment; groundskeeper for all parks and recreations locations including landscaping and mowing, baseball filed upkeep, maintain and clean shelter houses, paint/repair paint where needed, and will be used at any parks and recreations property as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Training and Experience: Sufficient education to acquire the ability to follow oral and written instructions; no previous work experience required.
• Special Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with public work equipment and procedures. Ability to perform heavy labor for extended periods, often under inclement weather, possesses mechanical aptitude, and has minor carpentry skills. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other employees, officials, and the public.
• Requirements: Valid Kentucky Driver’s License
