y, age 71, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green surrounded by her loving family.
The Monticello, Kentucky native was born Monday, August 13, 1951 the daughter of the late Clarence Ray Baker and Barbara Francis (Smith) Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Burns Lackey, Jr.; her sister, Ruth Ann Hranicky (the late Stephen Hranicky); and her brother, Larry Baker.
Mrs. Lackey was a beloved art teacher for more than 30 years that retired from Drakes Creek Middle School in Bowling Green. In addition to Drakes Creek, she also taught at Monticello Independent Schools. She was an art enthusiast in which she had her art showcased at the Capitol and some pieces were even on display in Europe. She had a love for gardening, sailing, going to the beach, and travelling. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, artist and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Her memories will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Tabitha Lyndsay Eubanks, Bethany Danette Turner, and Lyndsay Sariel Lackey; her sister, Barbara “Jean” Baker Hargis (Douglas); her grandchildren, Kelsey Taylor Gregory, Jessica Michelle Belcher (Danielle), Ethan Michael Gregory, Talan Blaze Turner, Jason Allen Dunkerson, and Alaya Alexandria Dunkerson; her great-grandchildren, Kade Brian Alexander and Channing Drake Alexander; and her beloved dogs, Gracie, Sophie, and Bailee.
A Celebration of Life Visitation for Mrs. Lackey will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
