The Monticello Volunteer Fire Department is still looking for applicants to potentially add to the department.
The department is looking for dedicated individuals who would be eager to serve the community, if interested call the fire department for an application at 348-5552.
For the month of January Fire Chief, Gabe Heatherly reported a total of 40 incidents were responded to with 5 of those being fire calls, with one being a structure fire. There were 9 rescue calls responded to with 8 involving motor vehicle accidents including one extrication. There were 24 calls responded to to in the city and 16 in the county.
