(LEX 18) — Pediatricians in the area and state have recently said they’re worried about the influx of flu, RSV, strep, and pneumonia right now.
Many in the medical field say this could indicate a particularly bad flu season. Doctors have been seeing a lot of flu, a lot of strep, a lot of RSV, still seeing some COVID.
This number of different health issues circulating is really unusual to see in October or November, especially as much flu as has been seen this early, flu usually peaks after the holidays; it tends to get worse and numerous school districts in the area have already missed some time due to the flu.
All who are eligible for a flu vaccine is reminded to get one, it takes about two weeks to achieve full protection.
