Fiscal Court Recap

The WC Fiscal Court met Thursday for their regular monthly session, the court did not hear the 2nd reading of the nuisance ordinance. After receiving input from magistrates and citizens the ordinance is undergoing revisions with a new first reading planned for the November meeting.

An ordinance pertaining to the tower lease was tabled due to some incorrect wording.

The court approved the re-appointments of Barbara Turpin and Sandra Riddle to the Library Board.

The court approved a new agreement for 911 radio equipment saving the county approximately $40,000 from a previous agreement.  The total cost is $326,710.

It was noted during the meeting that due to a lack of precinct workers only six precincts will be open for the November election, those are Union, Elk Creek, Mullentown, Mill Springs, and Oil Valley.
