Mr. Richard Raymond Morrow, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, Kentucky having attained the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 21 days. He was born in the Big Sinking Community of Wayne County, Kentucky on Saturday, December 16, 1939, the son of Raymond Leonard and Gussie (Correll) Morrow. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Cooper Baptist Church, worked at S & T Hardware Store for 27 years, Wayne County Circuit Court Clerk for 24 years, from 1988 until 2012, a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard, member of Monticello Masonic Lodge #431 F. & A.M, and Royal Arch #152 with accomplishments including Master Mason, Master of the Lodge twice, senior deacon several times including this year, and current secretary of the Royal Arch #152.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Willard Morrow, Boyd Morrow, and J.C. Morrow.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Hughes) Morrow, whom he wed on Friday, April 27, 1962 of Monticello, Kentucky, daughter, Lisa (& Steven) Pyles of Monticello, Kentucky, siblings, Mac (& Barbara) Morrow of Indianapolis, Indiana, Eloise Bassler of Venice, Florida, several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Kendall Parnell officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 6:00 a.m. until the funeral hour in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello Kentucky. New’s Monticello Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky is honored to be in charge of arrangements.
