Police and Sheriff’s Department will Participate in Drug Take Back Day

Police Chief Joey Hoover reports you can safely dispose of expired or no longer needed prescription drugs this Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. with a convenient, quick drop-off at the Monticello Fire Department parking lot at 795 North Main Street. Also, Wayne County Sheriff, Tim Catron, and his staff will be set up at Walmart in the Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center from 10 am to 2 pm.
You may drop off any unused, outdated, or no longer needed medications you may have. Liquids or syringes cannot be accepted due to DEA regulations. This will be a safe and discrete way of disposing of your medications with no limits on the amount you can drop off. No medications will be looked at and will be shipped out of state to an incinerator for destruction by the DEA.
