Burglary Investigation Leads to Arrests

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron an investigation by Deputy Cody Neal into a burglary on Harris Road has led to the arrests of four Wayne County individuals.
Deputy took the burglary report on October 16, 2021, where over $30,000.00 of property was stolen. Items including farm equipment, a vehicle, tools, and other miscellaneous items. Deputy Neal’s investigation took him to several locations interviewing suspects and in an attempt to locate the stolen items. While being assisted by Sheriff Catron and Deputies Joe Horne, Valis Smedley, Derek Dennis and James Barnett on October 19, 2021, a 1991 Toyota pickup was recovered on the Slagle Criswell Road. A 16-foot bumper pull trailer with numerous tools were recovered on the O P Link Road. Also, more tools were recovered on the Clayton Lyons Road.
Deputy Neal charged and arrested Eric W. Rhule, Johnathan A. Ferrell, Earnest E. Brooks and Shawn Guffey all of Monticello, Ky. for receiving stolen property over $1,000.00 but less than $10,000.00.
Rhule, Ferrell, Brooks and Guffey were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Deputy Neal’s investigation is continuing with more charges and arrest are expected.
