Remembering The Bear

Z93 was saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and colleague Barry Troxtell on Friday. “The Bear” as he was known to our listener’s co-hosted our morning show at one time with “Big E” whether he was in studio dressed as the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz, cutting open persimmon seeds to predict how much snow we’d have in the winter, or his interactions with Earl and cousin Earlene from the Baby Blue Gill Lodge, mornings were always fun and unpredictable with Barry. His humor was infectious and he would say almost anything to get a reaction from our listeners. Off-air Barry was a great person.  He was respectful and intelligent he cared for his family and had a love for horses and life. Through health issues that he would go on to face his faith always remained his strength. He leaves behind his mother, Sylvia, and other close family members who mourn his passing.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
