Coach Woods Inducted into Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame

In May, the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 finally was able to have its induction ceremony after a year-long delay. This weekend, it was the Class of 2021’s turn to be celebrated.

The 12 newest members of the Hall of Fame were honored in a ceremony at the State Theater in downtown Elizabethtown Saturday evening, officially enshrining them with the other greats from across the state’s high school basketball history.

Among this year’s class was Coach Rodney Woods, who will be entering his 35th season as Cardinals Head Coach this fall. Coach Woods has led the Cardinals to nine 12th Region championships and a runner-up finish in the 1989 state tournament. He’s also the winningest active high school basketball coach in the state, his victories rank fifth in state history, in April he was awarded The Ralph Beard Lifetime Achievement Award.
