Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

An early morning traffic stop Friday lead to the arrest of a Wayne County man.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 39 year old Jonathan D. Rigney and charged him with; fleeing or evading police, 2nd degree (on foot), resisting arrest, disorderly conduct 2nd degree, and assault 3rd degree-police officer.

Other arrests reported by Sheriff Tim Catron:

Chris S. Barnett of Monticello, Ky. was arrested on 2 Wayne County Circuit Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to comply-defendant left rehab on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping-2nd degree.

Kenneth B. Lair of Monticello, Ky. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a Pre-Trial Conference on the underlying charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to have license in possession and for traffic violations.

Cindy Cook of Albany, Ky. was arrested on a Clinton County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Rodney L. Criswell of Somerset, Ky. was arrested on 2 Pulaski County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to pay on the underlying charges of fraudulent use of a credit card and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.

Rigney, Barnett, Cook and Criswell were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Lair was released from custody after posting Bond.
